Please read the paragraphs given below carefully and complete the tasks given at the end Assignment brief: Businesses employ number of strategies to gain competitive advantage over their competitors. Many times, the outcome is influenced by the strategies of their competitors, changes in the business environment and ability of the leadership influences the businesses’ strategy and response. There is also increasing importance of CSR is also influencing business like never seen before.

Assessment Task Description

For this assignment, you are required to select any company from the list given below (Focus only on their UK operations) and perform the following tasks.

  1. Perform a SWOT and PESTEL analysis for chosen business. (Learning Outcome 1)
  2. From the analysis in task 1, in your opinion, evaluate how the changes in PESTEL factors has influenced the Opportunities and Threats business and its stakeholders. Critically comment on how the business is addressing their Strengths to negate Threats and Weakness affecting their Opportunities. (Learning Outcome 4)
  3. Discuss the importance of leadership in navigating the business in wartime and peacetime situations. Using leadership Styles suggested by Daniel Goleman, identify any two leadership that will suit the business, and two leadership style that will not suit them. Your answer should provide relevant theory and use of literature to justify the recommendation in relation to the environmental analysis performed in task 2. (Learning Outcome 3)
  4. Comment on the efforts of your chosen company on the environmental sustainability in terms of response, responsibility, and social obligations. (Learning Outcome 2)
  5. Recommend 2 to 4 changes to the chosen organisation towards operational processes to meet stakeholders’ expectations and shifting business climate. (Learning Outcome 5)
