Scenario
Both parts of the assessment use the same scenario.
EatWell – a personal diet planner with AI
Abbreviations: PM means project manager, AI means artificial intelligence.
You are an independent app developer. Every app you develop is a project, and you are the project manager as well as the developer.
You have been approached by a client who has an interest in the impact of diet on health. The client has noticed the powerful capabilities of generative AI services such as ChatGPT. Your client has asked you to develop a new app that uses AI to help individuals plan their diet.
The app will be called EatWell, and the project to develop it is Project EatWell. You must use this name in every answer in your assignment.
EatWell will run on iOS and Android. A user will enter details about their meals in real time using text, audio, video, and predefined food choices already configured in EatWell. When enrolling, each user must input personal data such as height, age, etc. EatWell then creates a profile of the individual and their diet.
When the user plans their next meal, EatWell will use the diet and personal data it has stored to prompt ChatGPT for personalised advice on what to eat for optimum health. This advice will be displayed by the app in engaging formats, giving the user an opportunity to have a discussion with ChatGPT about food and health.
However, the client is not completely sure what he wants to achieve with EatWell and often changes his mind. You are aware of the challenges this presents for you as you manage the work.
The scope of the project is end to end. You are expected to manage the project from the requirements to release on iOS and Android platforms and to iteratively develop EatWell based on live user feedback.
Your project team consists of you (the project manager and designer) and a small number of programmers and testers, who are located offshore and will be your project team.
The interface to ChatGPT will be through ApenAI’s API. Information for developers can be found here: https://platform.openai.com/
The security of personal data on EatWell is a high priority. EatWell will earn revenue through the display of carefully selected advertising on the app.
