In the assignment we are simulating your role as an external strategic advisor for a well known organisation. Based on the information received during the lectures and the experience of solving case studies maturated during the seminars, students are asked to propose a strategic advice to solve the problem of the case study presented. Building on the situational analysis conducted in Assignment 1, students will select a strategic issue and develop a strategic plan for the organisation to gain a sustainable competitive advantage in dynamic contexts. They will appraise, investigate, and recommend strategies aligned with the organisation’s mission, vision, and values. Students will formulate a comprehensive strategy that addresses the identified strategic issues and opportunities for growth and success, and helps the organisation to develop a lasting competitive advantage. Additionally, students will propose an implementation plan outlining the steps, resources, KPIs, and timeline required for successful strategy execution.
Deliverable:
A report including the following sections:
– Introduction (Suggested word count 150-word)
– Recommended strategy (Suggested word count 800-word): Formulation of a comprehensive strategy that addresses the identified strategic issues, allows to seize opportunities for growth and success and helps to develop a competitive advantage.
– Strategy implementation plan (Suggested word count 600-word): A detailed strategic plan for the organisation, including the recommended strategic actions, steps, resources, KPIs, and an implementation timeline.
– A personal reflection on the learning gained from the module and the group project (Suggested word count 300-word)
– Conclusion (Suggested word count 150 words).
Learning Outcomes Assessed:
LO2 Appraise, investigate and recommend about how firms can solve their strategic issues to gain a sustainable competitive advantage in multiple, diverse contexts by reflecting on how theoretical knowledge can aid practising strategists and managers.
LO3 Critically evaluate strategic business situations, formulating new strategy, and propose a plan to adopt the suggested strategy.

Assessment Submission Instructions:
Students must submit the report via Turnitin. The due date for the submission is on 16 January 2025 at Noon (Midday, 12pm)

Grades and feedback will be available within 15 working days after the submission deadline.

Report of 2,000 words (Appendix and References excluded)
