Scenario
A researcher intended to study the association between demographic characteristics (gender and race) and anemia status. Data collected by the researcher were entered into SPSS software and saved as “anemia.sav”
Question 1: Conduct the appropriate analysis to determine association between gender and anemia status.
Run hypothesis testing and conclude your findings. Take level of significance at 0.05.
Must show the steps in hypothesis testing as follows:
- Step 1: State the hypothesis (1 mark)
- Step 2: Set the significance level (1 mark)
- Step 3: Check the assumptions (3 marks)
- Step 4: Test statistics
Do manual calculation (5 marks)
(calculate expected frequency and chi-square value) Analyze using SPSS (5 marks)
- Step 5: Interpretation and conclusion according to APA format (3 marks)
Question 2:
Conduct the appropriate analysis to determine association between race and anemia status. Take the level of significance at 0.05.
- Interpret the assumption and conclude your finding according to APA format. (6 marks)
