Answer
- Introduction
The task is about self-development and skill audit. To begin the task, I will perform an audit and evaluation of my core skills and qualities. To conduct the assessment and skill audit, I wanted to explain why research skills are critical in the modern era. Additionally, I need to determine the fundamental need for skill audit in order to assess the success of my whole team, which is working tirelessly to collect a certain sum of money for the welfare of various individuals. Additionally, I would use the Gibbs reflective model to explain a particular condition in the paper. Additionally, I will perform personal improvement planning and research during the task by exploring various aspects of personal development.
- Audit and Evaluation of the Key Skill
In this essay I will explore the employability and transferable skills that I have learned from attending this module. Transferable skills are not limited to being useful in professional settings; they may also be helpful in everyday, life situations (Sanusi et al. 2018). For job seekers, a set of transferable skills can put them at an advantage to demonstrate that they are the right person for the job description. To successfully do this, the first to recognize the transferable skill or skills, needed for the job. Following this, the candidate should reflect on several ways to show those same skills in the employment course (Plant et al. 2019). Employability is the ability of getting and maintain the role, as well as, having personal skills well developed and attributes that will make the person work on what they work efficiently whilst enjoying themselves and being successful. Employability is dependable on tree major keys skills; knowledge, attitude, and skills bin detail are what knowledge the person holds, what do they do with what they know and based on those things how people react to situations they may face (Muda 2018). Universities and higher education can aid students in identifying and developing their own employability skills (Maharaja 2018). Skill audit can be described as the existing method for finding specific skill gaps within a person, a procedure, or even an organization. The final result of a skill audit is critical for determining various areas of training need. Throughout the formative course, a variety of different skills were illustrated and created, including leadership skills, collaboration skills, power point presentation skills, IT skills, problem-solving skills, self-awareness skills, and endurance skills (Sanusi et al. 2018). The whole skill audit will be done with two main skills and two minor skills in mind. The primary strengths are decision-making and coordination. On the other side, minor abilities such as problem solving and persuasion will be tested through the competence audit. The skills below have been audited from the audited skills’ point of view:
- Skills Overview
During this module, I had the chance to learn in detail and develop plenty of skills, these include problem solving, critical thinking, flexibility, communication, teamwork, organizational skills, IT skills, time management. These skills are helpful in a business setting and also in personal life, since the beginning of this module teamwork abilities is what I have been worked on the most, the reason is when I first went at the university, I was an introvert, learning about teamwork and its strategies to overcome certain barriers when it comes to work with colleagues, learning and practicing teamwork has been enjoyable to me, even though we worked via video calls, and other instant messaging formatting, I managed to learn how to lead and manage my team, and also ask for help when I saw that my team members were a bit behind or having trouble understanding the work and meeting the deadlines. During the studying, I had the chance to improve time management and critical thinking, with this module I have learned to manage my time efficiently since we are in the going through a difficult and challenging time, I was working as well as studying from home it was easy to be distracted or be caught being lazy and unproductive, but with the time management strategies I have done a to do list that helps me prioritise my deadlines and other responsibilities I have. When it comes to critical thinking learning this skill through this module have helped me to analyse situations in a more factual form, I believe this skill is the skill I have to work on the most, since it is not easy for me to detach myself emotionally from situations.
Since I am studying and working from home, I have spent more time with technology devices such as, laptop, cell phone and so, nowadays one of the most important skills to have since majority of jobs requires people to have skills. Additionally, I have realised being a student requires good skills of organizational skills learning it from these past weeks I have learned ways to make sure that things are following a certain structure created to optimize the waste of time as well as improve my assertiveness. Making spreadsheets on excel and understanding the Zoom platform and Microsoft has improved my IT skills, individually. As a business student it is crucial to have adaptability as a skill due to the fast changing of the business environments that we are facing nowadays and which might have impact on my career as a business student, having in accountability the current situation not only I felt the needed to adapt to those circumstances not only in school but also in my professional life, before the wave of Covid-19 I was working but unfortunately due to what was happen at the time they had to close the shop, so I started to learn about investments to expand not only my financial freedom but also my knowledge in the stock market, I have learnt about a whole new world, with new terms and strategies, I find myself integrated in a whole that was completely foreign to me.
- Teamwork Analysis
Teamwork is the course of working where people work together in order to achieve an objective or a goal this means that the people of the team will add to the group their individual skills and critical thinking in order to achieve their common goal. In a team, people may have different roles, such as the leader, the time keeper and so forth, these roles should be given to the person from the time that has had more experience and feels more comfortable in that role in order for the team to be successful and work the most efficiently (Plant et al. 2019)
- Shared Purpose & Team Self-Monitor
The member of the team needs to devote themselves to their common goal which leads to the success of the final project, they all must individually make great efforts that benefits the team in order for the team thrive. Besides, when working in team work sometimes the same task can be delivered to many people, that is why management is needed so if a member of the team is missing something self-monitor strategies will keep this himself in check as well as motivated in order to not only development the self-improve but also to improve the team and its environment (Lawrie et al. 2019) ……………………
